Armenia Prime Minister is a “historic” visit to Turkey news

The Armenian Prime Minister Nicole Pashinian A rare visit to Turkey, where he held talks on Friday with the president Recep Tayyip Erdogan In Istanbul.

Erdogan stressed, “The importance of the compatibility reached in the ongoing peace negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, under the current circumstances, and that Türkiye will continue its full support for efforts to develop the region on the basis of the principle of profit for all.”

Erdogan and Prime Minister of Armenia discussed “the potential steps that can be taken within the framework of the normalization between Türkiye and Armenia.”

An in -depth dialogue

The Armenian Prime Minister said on the “X” platform that he had a “in -depth dialogue” with Erdogan, during which they discussed “the process of normalization between Armenia and Turkey and regional developments.”

Bashinyan assured the Turkish president that Armenia “is committed to building peace and stability in our region.”

Armenia and Turkey are not associated with official diplomatic relations, and their common borders have been closed since the 1990s.

Historical tension prevails between Türkiye and Armenia against the background of what is known as Armenian massacres World War II Under The Ottoman Empire.
