Many feel dizzy after swimming. What is the reason for that? How can the rotor be faced?
To answer these two questions, German cardiologist Felix Post explained that the reason for feeling dizzy after swimming lies in water pressure; Where the pressure of the water increases with its depth and pushes the blood from the deep parts of the body to the upper parts.
Upon leaving the water, the body reports blood; What was previously pushed to the upper part of the body and head, is now returning to the legs and pelvis. This redistribution can affect blood pressure, then it decreases.
The body interacts with an increase in the heart rate. However, if this adaptation does not happen enough, it may lead to problems in the short term, including feeling dizzy.
Leaving the water slowly
To avoid the roundabout, Dr. Post recommended that the water leave slowly; In this way, the blood does not accumulate suddenly, as the heart has a longer time to control its bloody cycle.
It is also important to walk a few steps after swimming, to stimulate blood circulation.
Swimming style
Also, the swimming style plays an important role in avoiding dizziness; As when lying horizontally as possible in water while swimming, less blood will be pushed into the chest.
In the case of water jogging or water gymnastics, it is best to perform exercises in water in a horizontal position as possible, for example using swimming buoy.
