US President Donald Trump thanked the State of Qatar and said that it and the African Union made unremitting efforts in coordination and work to achieve a peace agreement between Rwanda and the Democratic Congo.

For his part, the Minister of State in the Qatari Foreign Ministry, Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Al -Khulaifi, told Al -Jazeera that his country welcomes the peace agreement between the Democratic Congo and Rwanda, and that this agreement comes after rounds of negotiations, some of which were held in Doha.
Al -Khulaifi added that Qatar hopes to adhere to the implementation of the terms of this agreement to reduce the escalation and enhance the idea of security and stability of the Great Lakes region.
The two warring African countries announced – in a joint statement on Wednesday – that they signed the first letters on an agreement that ends the conflict in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo.
