Ankara- Testify People’s Republican Party A decisive and decisive stage with internal challenges at the present time, as political tensions are escalating against the backdrop of two prominent events that occupy political circles.
- The first is the announcement of the founder of the “Al -Watan” party, Muharram EngeHis party officially resolved, in a step paving his potential return to the ranks of the Mother Party (the Republican People’s Party), which he defected in 2021.
- As for the second, it appears in the upcoming judicial session today, which will take place in the appeals presented against the results of the General People’s Republican Conference for the year 2023.
With these important stations, the party faces a great challenge in maintaining its internal cohesion and stability, at a time when political maneuvers are accelerating and divisions are increasing within its ranks, which puts its political future at stake.
Awaited return
On Tuesday, Enge announced that his “Al -Watan” party dissolved and presented it as an offer to return to the ranks of the Republican People’s Party, after a meeting he collected B.Ozgor OzilThe current party leader, who called Enge to return to his “political home.”
Ozil pointed out that the return was to send an official invitation to Enjeh and his companions to join the mother party, which was accepted by the latter, who confirmed that he would present the issue to the competent committees in his party (Al -Watan) before making the final decision.
The specialized committees of the “Al -Watan” party met last Monday, and made a decision to dissolve the party, while Enge participated in the meeting of the parliamentary bloc of the Republican People’s Party in Parliament one day.
Injeh stressed in the meeting that he did not come out of pride or remorse, but rather in response to a sincere invitation from Ozal to strengthen the unity of the party and stand against the ruling regime, which he described as collapsed economically, explaining that his return does not carry personal goals, but rather is part of a vision to strengthen the ranks of the opposition in general.
Although the return of Enge was welcomed by some party members, including the mayor of Istanbul Akram ImamogluWho welcomed warmly on social media, but there is a clear opposition from some historical leaders, especially those close to Klogaroglu The former party president.
They see the return of Enge as a threat to the party’s safety and principles, as he had previously criticized the party and accused him of suspicious relations bFathallah Gulen group AndPKKWhat led to its defection and the establishment of the “Al -Watan” party.

Reinforcement
The controversy in the return of Enge raises questions about the future of the Republican People’s Party in light of internal tensions and ideological conflicts between the reformist movement led by Ozil and Akram Imamoglu, which calls for expanding the party’s electoral base, and between the traditional Kemal current that opposes these trends and fears the effects of the return of controversial figures such as Enge.
In the context, political analyst Omar Afshar believes that the potential return of Enjeh will leave an important imprint on the political balances in Türkiye, with the internal and external repercussions she holds.
He says to Al -Jazeera Net, that if this return is improved, it may enhance the strength of the opposition, as it will help attract voters who feel excluded from other parties in the opposition.
However, Afshar warns that the internal divisions in the party may undermine its cohesion, which will negatively affect its electoral strategy, adding that the tensions exist between the reform wings and the traditional current in the party may become more clear, threatening its stability.
Afshar notes that the success of this return in strengthening the opposition force depends on the ability of the Republican People’s Party to manage its internal differences, and to exploit this moment to unite the ranks instead of turning it into a factor that increases the political rift within the ranks of the opposition.
The reins of power
The Republican People’s Party faces a major challenge in the legitimacy of the leadership, as the party circles are approaching two decisive judicial sessions. Today, Monday, the Ankara Court is scheduled to consider the legal appeal against the results of the 38th General Conference of the party, after a complaint from the former mayor of Hatay, Lotfi Sawish, of violations in the conference elections.
Press reports confirm that the court’s ruling, if it was issued in favor of the appellants, may restore Kamal Klijdaroglu automatically to head the party as the former legal president who was excluded as a result of the conference.
A delegation of senior party leaders met last Monday, including the mayor of Ankara Mansour Yafash, with Klejdaroglu to consult on the matter, as they asked him to announce his opposition to any decision to cancel the results of the conference or impose judicial guardianship on the party. However, Klogadaroglu was satisfied with saying, “We hope that the nullity will not be complete, but if this is the case, I cannot leave the party to the guardian, after the decision we will sit with Ozil and talk.”
For his part, Ozgor Ozil, the current party leader, stressed the need to respect internal partisan procedures, warning that “any person who has not been elected in the conference is not entitled to the party’s rule,” noting that accepting any external change will be “a historical error.”
On these developments, deputies from the party launched a counter -attack to defend Clevedaroglu, and 10 of them, last Friday, issued statements through the communication sites in defense, considering the attack on it “unacceptable” and contrary to “the party’s culture and traditions.”
While political pressures are escalating, a circuit of Klionaroglu began to develop emergency plans for the possibility of his return to the leadership of the party, including studying scenarios to remove Ozil and Imamoglu from their positions if he regains control of the party.
The heads of the party’s branches in the states recently held a meeting in Ankara, in which they expressed their full support for Ozil, calling on Klijdaroglu to reject any judicially imposed return.
Fogly the dispute
These interlocking developments embody a real test of the Republican People’s Party unity. While some leaders see the return of Muharram Enjjeh, the opponent of the previous party, may enhance the electoral opposition bloc, others warn that his return will again open the deep ideological differences that have always been one of the reasons for the party’s divisions.
For his part, Badri Agaj, the former president of the People’s Republican branch in Gomoshehanna, believes that the current tensions in the party are a real challenge, but it is not the end of the road. It is believed that the appeal against the results of the General Conference should be seen with caution, and fear that the court has been affected by political pressure, which may threaten the integrity of the legal process.
He told Al -Jazeera Net, that Muharram Enkjeh’s return to the party is a natural issue, stressing that Enjah is part of the party’s history and will return to its natural place, but he stressed that the current moment requires all members of the party to join hands and unify efforts to confront internal and external challenges.
