Jake Paul’s content maker continues his successful career in the boxing world with another easy victory over the Mexican Julio Cesar Chavez Junior – yesterday, Sunday, in a professional show match organized by his promotional company in Anaim.
The 28-year-old American boxer won a collective decision against a full crowd of supporters of Tafses, 39, at the Honda Center 99-91, 97-93, 98-92.
After his fight against Chavez (the hero of the former global boxing council for medium weight between 2011 and 2012 and the son of boxing legend Julio Cesar Chavez) Paul said, “He is a strong man. No one has never stopped him, a Mexican warrior. I respect Mexican warriors.
Although the fans supported the Tafses, this was not enough to provide a good performance, but the Mexican was inactive throughout most of the fight, satisfied with receiving direct punches without giving anything.
Chavez only beats in the last rounds, when he was very late in the results of the matches.
Paul directed his opponent 140 punch out of 472 (29%) and the majority of direct strikes were his share, as he aimed at 65 straight punch out of 302 (21.5%) throughout the fight, which lasted 10 rounds.
“It was ideal. I think I only received 10 strikes. He simply survived, and I considered that I had a good scourge. I had 10 rounds against a former world champion that nothing stopped. He is there with Canilo, and all these men, and I embarrassed him like this,” the American boxer said.
On the other hand, Chavez’s performance was very weak for a former hero in the medium weight, as only 61 of the punch of 154 punch (39.6%) of which 9 punches in the first five rounds were directed.
“I thought I lost the first five rounds, so I tried to win the last rounds. He is strong, a brilliant boxer in the three or four rounds after that, I felt tired. I don’t think he was ready for the championship, but he is a good fighter,” said Chavez, who has only had one fight since 2021.
With this victory, Paul became closer to achieving his dream of competing for a world title, and announced his intentions after winning.
“I want stronger fighters and I want to become the world champion. Zoro (Ramirez) looked slow tonight. This is easy. I want Badou Jack. Tommy Fiuri is also able to do so. Enough escaping from me, Tommy.
