She emphasized that the continuation of the fighting is thrown into the army in a bloody guerrilla war, which is mainly responsible for the ministers of the extremist religious right.
The writer adds that the pretext of “destroying Hamas” is only a weak cover to prolong the war, noting that Israel did not destroy Hezbollah, nor the Iranian regime, and despite that, the continuation of the fighting with them was not raised as “an existential necessity.”
She explained that Smotic and Ben Ghafir did not threaten to withdraw when the ceasefire agreement was signed in Lebanon last November, which reveals selective positions and the use of the Gaza war to achieve internal political gains.
According to her opinion, the undeclared goal of the continuation of the war is to obstruct the prisoner deal, as they can only be liberated through an agreement, which is what the extremist parties oppose for fear of granting a “symbolic victory” for Hamas.
The most extreme
The writer continues, saying that she does not agree with the circulating novel that Smotrich is striving to implement his colonial project in Gaza, as he is not naive and is fully aware of the impossibility of the occupation of Gaza.
The reason for his insistence on obstructing any agreement to release the prisoners and try to appear in the largest amount of cruelty and extremism, just like the Minister of Settlement Orient Stock, is the competition between the far -right parties.
Here the puzzle can be resolved as she put it, as this competition leads to stiffness of positions to the point of tampering, which is what Smotrich has been doing since December 2023, when his popularity has declined in opinion polls because of his support for the first prisoners exchange agreement that Bin Ghafir opposed, and he has been doing his best since then to prove that he is more extreme and solid than the Minister of Security.
The writer went to the fact that this battle is a loser, but Smutrich is determined to continue it in violation of all political logic, not to mention religious values and “Israeli traditions in adhering to covenants and agreements.”
She concluded that even after signing the new agreement at the request of US President Donald Trump, Smotrich will strive to divide him into several stages in the hope of returning the soldiers into the ruins of Gaza.
