A player in the Cameroon basketball under 19 years of age made a strange and fatal mistake during his country’s match against Australia in the Youth Basketball World Cup currently held in Switzerland, which eventually contributed to the loss of the African national team.
Cameroon lost to Australia 96-101 in the matches of the second round of the fourth group of the U-19 basketball World Cup, a loss that came after this “incomprehensible” error.
Cameroonian Amadou Seni received the ball from one of his teammates in the basketball area of his country without any control or pressure.
However, the player suddenly turned towards the episode of his country, putting the ball inside it, paving the Australia, two strange points, amid the astonishment of his teammates and the players of the opposing team and even the fans on the stands of the Cole Arena in the Swiss city of Lausanne.

This happened 48.9 seconds from the end of the fourth quarter, then the Cameroon team was 6 points ahead of the result (80-74) to reduce to 4 before Australian players could adjust the result before the end of the end.
The match extended to two additional runs in which the Australians managed to achieve a victory that kept their hopes in the championship alive, after they lost their first match against the United States by 15 points.
The Cameroonian Basketball Federation has not issued any official statement to clarify the circumstances of what happened, and it seems that it preferred to remain silent at least until the moment.
The American “Fox Sports” website commented on this shot by saying, “This is one of the strangest mental errors in the history of basketball ever.”
It is striking that Sini – despite the fatal error – performed great during the match, and his numbers were distinct, according to the official website of the International Basketball Federation.
