Dugo Gota, with his personal confession, was a “young young man” from a town in northern Portugal, but he was carrying a big dream is to play in the Premier League.
Gota, who passed away today, Thursday, at the age of 28, achieved this dream and much more, and in its last weeks before death, Gota made some amazing achievements.
The British Press Agency (BA Media) reported that he won the Premier League title with Liverpool last May, and participated in the last match of the season against Crystal Palace.
In early June, he achieved another achievement with Portugal, as it was within the team that crowned the European Nations League title.
On June 22, Gota married his partner Rot Cardoso, the mother of his three children, and described marriage on social media hours before his death as “a day he will never forget.”
Gota grew up in Gondumar, and his parents were Joachim and Isabelle paid him the costs of playing in the local club until he completed his 16th year.
The official website of Gundomar describes this club as a “story of passion and dedication”, and there is no doubt that there are few players embodying this valuable better than Gota.
In a statement to “Sky Sports” in 2022, Gota said, “This ambition was always with me. In my childhood and my emergence, I never played for the major clubs.”
“There was a few of my colleagues who moved to Porto and Benfica. I have experienced there, but I never continued. I was always among the best, but I was never the best.”
“From the moment I had the opportunity, I did not overlook it. I think that when we were young, we had permanent confidence in our capabilities. Maybe I didn’t think I would have reached a team the size of Liverpool. I was dealing with things step by one day, one day.”
Gota became a professional player in the ranks of the Backos de Veraire team in 2013, before achieving what appeared to be a dream of moving to the Spanish giant Atletico Madrid in 2016.
But he did not play any official match, and returned again to Portugal, on loan, for the Porto team.
Dream of playing in the English Premier League
In the summer of 2017, it was loaned for the third time for the Wolverhampton team, and scored 18 goals in 46 games, as it helped the team climb to the Premier League.
Thanks to his efforts, he got a permanent contract with the team, and the opportunity to achieve childhood dream of playing in the Premier League.
Jota was able once again to score a double number of goals, after Wolverhampton avoided relegation, and even the team starred throughout the season, and finished seventh in the first season in the Premier League, which helped the team qualify for the European League, where the team reached the quarter -finals in the following season, which was greatly affected by the Korona virus.
Gota’s passion for football was equivalent to his passion and professionalism, especially the “FIFA” game, and he was even crowned the title of the first edition of the English Premier League in 2020.
He gave him the opportunity to move to Liverpool in September 2020, where he was assigned to Jurgen Klopp, the Liverpool coach at the time, the task of challenging the basic offensive trio consisting of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.
Jota began his career with Liverpool strongly, scoring a goal only 8 minutes after his first participation against Arsenal, after which he continued the journey of brilliance, without retreating.
Thanks to his great danger, with his feet, Jota was a key element, whether within the starting lineup or when he participated as an alternative, and contributed greatly to the Liverpool march towards a historic four-way achievement in the 2021-2022 season, before the team was eventually satisfied with a local double after losing the league title by one point against Manchester City, and the Champions League final against Real Madrid.
Jota’s large value was embodied for the club in the offer he received to renew his contract in the summer of 2022 until 2027.

Jota has proven his point of view, and continued to climb, to become the beginning of this summer, the champion of the Premier League with Liverpool.
He told the official website of the Liverpool team last month: “To reach this season specifically and with the title that I have been seeking to achieve years ago, and in the best league in the world, the league that I dreamed of playing when I was a child, it is a moment I will still cherish her forever.”
“It is an exceptional achievement for a small young man who came from Junodmar, where I had this dream. Reaching this moment was very great.”
Gota’s younger brother André Silva, also a professional soccer player, died with him in the accident that occurred in Passour in Spain. Jota left behind his parents, Joachim and Isabelle, his wife Rot, and his three children.
