Kazui -Mira continued to strengthen his legend when he celebrated his fortieth season as a professional football player on Sunday, by participating essentially with Atletico Suzuka in a Japanese fourth division match.
Myora played the first 45 minutes of the match between Atletico Suzuka and Fertin Mai.
On June 15, “Kazu” played 8 minutes against Yokohama, but his club wanted to honor him with a key participation in a match at home to celebrate a historic achievement at the age of 58 (and 130 days).
“I know that it is rare for a professional athlete to celebrate his fortieth season, and I feel really lucky and really grateful. I think I can continue to play, and I told my team mates before today’s match that if I feel the ability, it’s thanks to their support.”
The “King Kazu” march with clubs has spanned 3 continents and 5 different decades. At the level of the national team, Mira is the second best international scorer in the history of Japan, with 55 goals in 89 games. As for his last goal with Atletico Suzuka, their history dates back to November 2022.
Myrara began his professional career in Brazil in 1986 with Santos, which made him one of the first Japanese players to professionalize abroad.
Miura moved between different clubs in Brazil, Italy (Genoa), Croatia (Dinamo Zagreb), and Australia before returning to Japan and playing clubs such as Verdi Kawasaki, Kyoto Sanga, Vesel Kobe, and Yokoham FC.
Myra played for the Japanese national team from 1990 to 2000, and scored 55 goals in 89 international matches, becoming the second most scorer in the history of the Japanese team, as it was part of the team that won the Asian Cup in 1992.
