Gaza- The mayor of Jabalia, Eng. Mazen Al -Najjar, warned against the disaster in all life facilities north Gaza Strip And undermining all efforts aimed at improving the living reality of citizens, as the Israeli aggression, which led to the worry of municipal, health, educational, economic and agricultural systems.
Al -Najjar, who heads the largest municipality B.North Gaza Governorate Which is exposed to an Israeli wild military operation for the fourth time since the outbreak of the war on the Strip, in a special interview with Al -Jazeera Net, that the occupation has made all its mechanisms and weapons to eliminate all the elements of life in Jabalia, and destroyed large areas according to the policy of “burned land”, and bombing homes on the heads of its residents, which signed dozens of martyrs and wounded daily.
He explained that the occupation has continued its aggression against the northern Gaza Strip for more than two months, and forced more than 300,000 Palestinians to leave their homes and forcibly displace the western regions of Gaza City.
The cruelty of displacement
He pointed out that the people of Al -Shamal Al -Ghazi live in the displacement camps with harsh living conditions, and thousands of them were forced to erect their tents on the seashore after they did not find a place, because the occupation deliberately stacked most of the population in very narrow spaces.
Al -Najjar noted the risks that threaten the displaced in light of the very hot climates, the spread of skin diseases, the absence of general hygiene, and water pollution.
He added that “the people gather in random camps and between the rubble without shelter, food, water, or even a medicine, and led a policy Starvation I deliberately spread malnutrition, especially in children and the elderly, “in addition to being affected by the extinguishing of wastewater and waste scattering in their circles, and their daily suffering from the multiplication of rodents and insects that transmit diseases.
According to the mayor, the residents of Jabalia are on the lips of thirst, where the municipality faces great difficulties in providing water to citizens due to the interruption of diesel, and it is not possible to transfer the birth generators of wells and communities as a result of evacuation orders, in addition to the failure of a number of these generators due to the continuous shelling.
He warned of the reflection of the interruption of filtering, sterilization, and chlorine tools on citizens, and the high possibility of infectious diseases, such as cholera, typhoid, hepatitis, etc., which means spreading diseases and the difficulty of controlling them.
Al -Najjar expressed his fear of the effects that the thousands of tons of garbage are scattered and the wastewater rash in the streets and the citizens and the displaced, which threatens to deepen the disaster, which may lose levels of control of the health situation in the future.
Facilities and equipment

Al -Najjar says that the occupation took the destruction of the remaining Jabalia and the northern Gaza Strip as the target of its last ground operation that he started in mid -May, and caused the municipal facilities that provide basic services and daily needs of citizens for service.
The municipal services – according to Al -Najjar – are exposed to direct aggression, which is the pursuit of the occupation army and employees during their work, which led to the martyrdom of a number of them and the injury of others.
According to Al -Najjar, severe damage that affected 70% of the water sector, including networks and wells, and the municipality lost 90% of its heavy mechanisms, and the aggression caused the damage to generators, which stopped the work of desalination plants, wells and waterbed wells in Jabalia, and caused complete paralysis of the movements of work crews and the exacerbation of the situation.
Jabalia municipality serves 240 thousand people, including 110,000 people living in Jabalia camp, which does not exceed a few kilometers and is considered one of the most densely populated refugees in the world.
Al -Najjar warned of an imminent collapse of the municipality of Jabalia due to the repeated Israeli attacks and the continuous siege, at a time when the local bodies are facing paralysis of the Israeli destruction and siege.
Rescue demands
The local official Al -Najjar confirms that the continuation of the war on the Gaza Strip constitutes the main obstacle to the work of the municipalities, and asks: How do the municipalities live in the conditions of people face to provide them with services in light of the pursuit of their employees, workers and killing, bombing their equipment, mechanisms and their main and branch facilities, and their interruption of fuel and generators?
He called for allowing the municipal teams to resume its role towards citizens, and to support life -saving projects on the basis of speeding up the protection of the environment and man.
Al -Najjar called on all international parties to intervene to stop the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip immediately, to introduce the tools and equipment necessary to work, support various projects, starting with opening roads and rehabilitating infrastructure and streets, combating water pollution, waste and diseases, housing people in organized camps and providing them with food, water and medicine, fighting malnutrition and restoring life to normal as they were before the armed war.
