Then comes the movie “Ahmed and Ahmed”, which belongs to the two types together, as if it confirms the absence of other cinematic species from the production map.

The movie “Ahmed and Ahmed” is directed by Ahmed Nader Jalal, written by Ahmed Darwish, Mohamed Abdullah Sami, starring Ahmed El -Sakka, Ahmed Fahmy, and Jihan Al Shamsharji. The film is competing with other works in the season, such as: “Project X”، “RestartAnd Al -Shater, in a faded summer season so far, whether in terms of the number or quality of the films.

This loss opens the door to unexpected adventures, and leads to revealing a completely different reality of the uncle, who is supposed to be a chemistry teacher.

The film relies on a smart distribution of the representative tasks: Ahmed Al -Sakka takes over the combat and kinetic side, while the comedy side is assigned to Ahmed Fahmy. This equation seeks to invest the strengths of each actor, but it also raises questions about the extent of balance and integration between the two action and comedies in the dramatic construction.

Both sides can be analyzed through only one scene, which is the opening scene of the film, where Ahmed Fahmy discovers the past of his uncle, and a gang is attacked inside the hospital, and Ahmed El -Saqa takes care of them all in an atmosphere of suspense.

This scene was filmed in multiple locations inside the hospital, the movement design is acceptable, as well as Ahmed El -Sakka. Likewise, Ahmed Fahmy performed a good performance in the embodiment of the personality of the confused sister, who does not understand what is happening around him and finds himself involved in spite of him.

But some problems in this scene emerge, the first of which is that it is very long as an opening scene, and even as an action scene in general. This prolongation is repeated in most of the movement’s scenes in the movie, indicating a defect in the management of the rhythm.

As for the comedy side, it was designed to be a background for action scenes, and it mainly depends on Ahmed Fahmy’s impressive reactions and is always surprised by the truth of his uncle, which is one style of comedy that is frequently repeated and does not witness a diversity.

Weak dramatic construction and ease of challenges

The scenario of the movie “Ahmed and Ahmed” suffers from a clear dramatic poverty; The text does not exceed being a general summary around which repeated adventures and chases revolve, without actual development in the characters, or a tangible dramatic escalation in events. The film world of the film is narrow and flat, free of complexity or depth, as if everything is going in a straight line without any challenges.

The comedy, despite its instantaneous effectiveness, does not add much to the general construction, but rather strengthens its simplicity, but at least it gives Ahmed Fahmy a good space for brilliance, and it cannot be said that he was marginalized.

As for the direction, the action scenes are photographed with acceptable efficiency, some of which are characterized by an attractive optical composition, and a good use of colors and effects. However, this aesthetic collides with a general feeling that everything is very easy: the tasks are accomplished without difficulties, and the plans succeed in extreme accuracy, and the viewer does not feel a real danger or dramatic tension, which weakens the effect of movement scenes.

On the other hand, the appearance of the guests of honor was not of value, and did not add anything real to the movie. Hatem Salah’s scenes as a psychiatrist uses hypnosis, or Ghada Abdel Razek in the role of the former wife of Ahmed, or Ahmed Abdel -Wahab in the role of Siraj, all of which were ineffective, and even turned into a burden on the general rhythm of the film.

As for Jihan Al -Shamsherji, she appeared in a limited role, in which she plays the character of Ahmed Fahmy’s fiancée, and is satisfied with his accompanying in his adventures with his uncle, without having an actual effect on the development of events.

“Ahmed and Ahmed” cannot be considered a bad film, but it is definitely not a good movie. Neither the comedy raises real laughter, nor the action is the degree of exciting excitement. It is a work that is located in the “acceptable Mediterranean” area, which is a familiar area for each of Ahmed Fahmy and Ahmed El -Sakka, who have not been known in recent years as works that provide real artistic addition. However, the film can be considered a relatively advanced step in their career, compared to some of its before.

On the level of the summer cinematic season, “Ahmed and Ahmed” is so far the best commercial width, not because it is a distinguished work, but because it did not fall into the trap “In the Ezz Al -Dahr“.
