Inter Milan, a competitor in the Italian Football League, announced today, Tuesday, that coach Simone Inzaghi left his post.
The coach, 49, leaves 3 days after the harsh loss of 5-0 against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final, and will not lead Inter in the FIFA World Cup for the upcoming Clubs.
Inzaghi and Inter finished the season in a disappointing manner, after finishing second in the league, one point behind the champion Napoli, and bid farewell to the Italian Cup from the semi-finals with the loss of 4-1 with a total of the two games against his local rival Milan.
“It is time to say goodbye to this club after a 4 -year journey, during which I presented everything,” Inzaghi said, in a separate statement.
In his period in Inter 6, Inzaghi won after winning the Italian league once, two titles in the Italian Cup, and 3 titles in the Italian Super Cup.
He added, “I would like to make a final word for millions of Inter fans that encouraged me, cried and suffered in difficult moments, and they laughed and celebrated 6 titles we achieved together: I will never forget you.”
Italian media said that Inzaghi will join Al Hilal Saudi Club in the near future, and will lead him at the United States Club World Cup.
