The emerging player, Gilberto Mora, led his country to Mexico to the final match of the Golden Cup after his remarkable brilliance against Honduras in the semi -finals of the tournament.
The 16-year-old Gilberto played his second international match with Mexico, in which he presented a decisive pass, from which his teammate Raul Jiminiz scored the winning goal (1-0) over Honduras, 5 minutes after the start of the second half.

Gilberto received a great praise from the media in his country and the world that believes that the credit for the qualification of Mexico for the final match is due to a “younger teenager than the Secretary of Jamal (Barcelona star).”
The midfielder Gilberto won the match man’s award, not only because of the decisive pass, but for his wonderful numbers that ended the meeting against Honduras.
The emerging player made two other chances, won 8 individual confrontations (the highest number in the match), and was the most exposed to mistakes, according to the French “RMC Sport” network.

Gilberto drew attention to him more because of his tactical maturity on the middle of the field, despite the difficult circumstances of the match in terms of physical terms.
The Mexican coach Javier Agiri, the coach of the Mexican national team, praised the praises and compliments of the emerging player, and said, “We are lucky to this player, he has the luck that he is a Mexican.”
“His parents take care of him well, and this appears in the education that he pursues at home. His behavior is excellent and I do not think that his environment or pressure will affect him.”

“He is still a child. Honduras players play physically to the extreme, but Gilberto has great talent,” Agiri concluded.
Airi Gilberto was summoned last June for the two friendly matches against Switzerland and Turkey, but he did not have any minute.
But the coach gave the player the honor to appear the first with Mexico last Sunday against Saudi Arabia in the quarter-finals of the Golden Cup, which ended with the victory (2-0), to become Gilberto, the youngest player to wear the national team shirt 16 years and 257 days.

The Mexican team faces its American counterpart in the final match at the NRG Stadium at dawn next Sunday, specifically at Mecca and Doha.
Gilberto has been playing for the adult team of Tijuana since its first appearance in the Mexican League, in August 2024 and then it was 15 years old.
Gilberto is the third youngest player to participate in a Mexican league match after Victor Martin and Martin Galvan, and he caused confusion after he wore a shirt, holding the shirt a three -day number.
