A spokesman for the Al -Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, Dr. Khalil Al -Dakran, said that since the beginning of the aggression, the Israeli occupation forces have launched a systematic attack against the health system and against hospitals in Gaza Strip.
He explained – in an interview with Al -Jazeera – that the occupation is targeting everything in the health system, noting that this targeting comes within the framework of the continuation of the war of genocide.
In this context, the occupation focuses in particular on targeting the generators that are the lifeblood of hospitals in the sector.
The occupation has so far destroyed 61 electric generators in the Gaza Strip hospitals, including the largest 3 electric generators that nurture hospitals in the Strip, according to the hospital spokesman.
Al -Dakran indicated that the last of these attacks was 3 days ago when the occupation targeted the largest electric generator inside the Gaza Strip hospitals.
This deliberate targeting of generators – according to censorship – is considered a death sentence for patients, given that the Gaza Strip has lived in complete darkness since the beginning of the aggression after the occupation cut all the electricity lines that provide the Gaza Strip with electric energy.
Punctuation
Parallel to direct destruction, the occupation prohibits the entry of spare parts to maintain electricity generators in hospitals, which leads to the remaining generators due to the continuous use of 24 hours of these generators that work without spare parts and without good maintenance.
The doctor also explained that the occupation uses the “punctuation policy” to introduce simple and incapacitated quantities always for hospitals, which increases the suffering of medical staff and patients.
In light of these harsh circumstances, Al -Dakran emphasized that this sharp deficiency in electricity constitutes a great danger to the lives of patients, especially in the vital departments, explaining that the various hospital departments cannot continue to work without electricity, specifically the intensive care departments, artificial kidney sections, nurseries, operations and heart units.
Al -Duqran warned that when electricity stops these departments, this means a threat to the life of all patients, as the work stops inside the operating rooms, which means that any injury to the hospital will wait to death.
In view of this catastrophic situation, he pointed out that hospitals were forced to take “austerity measures” to deal with the acute energy shortage, by stopping some generators from working in hospitals in order to continue for a longer time.
On the other hand, the hospital spokesman pointed out that the occupation is hitting all international norms and laws that stipulate the protection of health facilities and protect medical staff by displaying the wall.
In light of this, he called for the necessity of interfering to pressure the occupation to protect the health system, and appealed to international organizations and free organizations in the world and the international community to pressure the occupation in order to save the remaining health system before it is too late.
