Tweeters interacted widely with US President Donald Trump’s announcement of his agreement with Coca -Cola to use natural reed sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup in the United States.
The interaction came in light of the constant controversy over habits Trump Food and his passion known as the coca -Cola drink from which he consumes about 12 packages per day, according to press reports.
Social media platforms witnessed a clear division in opinions on this topic, as comments varied between two main teams: the first is radically criticizing the drink and considered it harmful to health regardless of the type of sugar used, while the second team supports Trump’s step with a variety of reservations ranging from health and economic considerations, according to episode (2025/7/17) of the “Networks” program.
The activist Laosh expressed her criticism of the drink at all, and she wrote: “Frankly, I do not know how people drink this condition! Whether natural or industrial sugar, the topic is terrifying that you enter Halika from sugar and calories on your body … honestly in anything healthy in Coca -Cola.”
In the same context, the singer Rama shocked her from the level of American consumption and tweeted saying: “I was shocked when I saw the amount of Coca -Cola that they consumed in America! On the other hand, some of the tweeters showed in support of Trump’s decision with different reservations. Deson tweeted in support of the step: “Trump works properly with this file, re -cane sugar is an excellent step, a really healthy decision, and better than corn syrup associated with chronic diseases, America must drink cleaner.”
While the account owner of Badr expressed cautious support with a focus on the economic aspects, as he tweeted, “The step is a healthy understanding, but an economic balance is necessary, the decision has great consequences on the local market.”
In this context, Coca -Cola did not deny Trump’s statements, but it was satisfied with saying that it “appreciates his enthusiasm for Coca -Cola” with the promise to announce soon new details.
However, the company explicitly confirmed the change of high fructose corn syrup with cane sugar, a concept position due to the possible repercussions on local costs and farmers.
The company had previously indicated that it continued to work to reduce sugar in its drinks in general, which indicates a broader strategy to deal with increasing health concerns about soft drinks.
