Argentine star Lionel Messi is studying the American player Inter Miami, the possibility of returning to the old European continent in order to be perfectly prepared for the 2026 World Cup.
Messi, 38, with Inter Miami, expires in December this year, and the item that allows an additional year has not been activated yet, according to the Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo”.
Messi and his family see this idea as a step forward in order to perfectly prepare for his sixth participation in the history of the World Cup.

Parallel to these developments, the British newspaper “The Sun” believes that Messi may finally fulfill his dream of playing in the English Premier League.
“Messi is studying the option to move on loan to a more competitive league in preparation for the defense of the World Cup next summer (2026),” the newspaper added.
On the opposite side, Inter Miami denies the existence of any intention to separate from Messi, and even confirms the mutual desire of both parties to extend the survival of the Argentine star until after the end of the current decade.
The current evidence indicates that the renewal of Messi’s contract with Inter Miami is very close, as sources close to the club confirm that the negotiations between the two parties are advancing well.
It is noteworthy that the best player in the world 8 times played in Europe for two teams, Barcelona – with which he achieved legendary achievements – and Paris Saint -Germain.
Since his arrival in the United States in the summer of 2023, Messi defended the colors of Inter Miami in 63 games in all championships, during which he scored 50 goals and provided 24 decisive passes.
The “flea” led the American team to achieve two titles, namely the League Cup and the shield of the fans, which are granted to the most share of points in the American League season in its eastern and western divisions, after which he participated in the Club World Cup for the first time in its history.
Inter Miami succeeded in overcoming the group stage, as it came second in the ranking of the first group with 5 points, with a goal difference from Palmeiras, Brazilian, beating Porto and Al -Ahly, the Egyptian succession.
But Messi’s adventure and his team stopped at the borders of the final price after the big loss of Inter Miami 0-4 against the European champion Paris Saint-Germain.
Messi participated in the four matches of the expanded version of the Club World Cup, during which he scored a single goal.
