The Palestinian film “Coyotes” will participate in the 82nd edition of the Venice Film Festival, scheduled for August 27 and September 6 of this year.
The film is participating in the “Horizons” short films competition, which includes 14 works that are shown for the first time in the world at the Venice Festival, including one film shown outside the competition.
The film is starring Palestinian actor Ali Suleiman, along with Maria Zureik, Yamna Marwan, and Islam Al -Awadi. It is the fruit of a joint production between Palestine, Jordan, France, and the United Kingdom.
The film extends for 20 minutes, during which the director Saeed Zogha presents a human treatment that addresses the issues of isolation, conflict and presence in a world that is bustling with turmoil, through Arab personalities who find herself in an exceptional situation within a mysterious environment in which psychological tensions gradually escalate.
As part of the “Horizons” short films competition, alongside the Palestinian movie “Threatened with Endowment”, a number of distinguished international works, including the Cuban-American movie “Norheimsund” directed by Anna Albizar.
The American movie “The Curfew” is signed by director Shahrazad Maher, along with the Chilean animated movie “Merrimundi” by director Niles Atallah.
The competition also includes another animated film, “Praying Mantis”, directed by Joe Hesse.
From France, the director Hugo Baker is competing with “The Lifline”, and the movie “I still hear it” (I Hear IT Still) directed by Constance Bonor. And the Italian movie “Kushta Main, my own,” Kichta Mayn, My Constantinople) directed by Niccolo Vulin.
In the prospects of short films, the Swedish film “without Kelly” is directed by Lovisa Sirin.
And the production of Germany, Belgium, China, “Soil, Culture, River, People” (A Soil, A Cuteure, A River, A People) by Fif Li. The Argentine film “He Origin of the World”, directed by Jazzen Lopez.
And the movie “Unavailable”, directed by Kirillo Zimliani, which is the common production of Ukraine, France, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Netherlands. From New Zealand, “Lion Rock”, directed by Nick Mayo, Perska Boch, participates.
The competition includes the Nigerian movie “Saint Simone”, directed by Olobonmi Augonsola. Besides the Italian movie “Rukeli), an animated movie shown outside the competition.
The jury of the competition dedicated to a experimental nature was announced, chaired by French director Julia Dukorno, who won the golden chastity for her movie “Titane”.
The committee includes in its membership both Australian director Shannon Murphy, American director Ramil Ross, and Italian director Yuri Ankrani, along with Argentine critic Fernando Enrique Juan Lima.
The Venice Film Festival administration also announced the formation of the arbitration committees for the upcoming session, as the jury of the official competition includes Iranian director Mohammad Rasoulouf, who won the “Cannes” festival award for his movie “The Seed of the Bible”, and the Romanian director Christian Mongio, who won the golden chastity for the movie “4 months, 3 weeks and two days”, alongside the Brazilian actress and writer Fernanda Torres, Italian Maora Delpero, Chinese actress Zhao Tao, and French director Stephen Barrezie. The jury is chaired by American director Alexander Pine.
And within the jury of the “Luigi de Laurentis” award for the best work of the first French director and producer, Erj Al -Suhairi, along with the Italian director Silvio Soldini, and the committee chairs the director Charlotte Wales.
