Finding bodies caused off Spain raised suspicions of murders against immigrants Varieties

Spanish police announced that the authorities opened an investigation after finding several bodies in the waters of the Mediterranean, and the hands of the victims and their legs were restricted.

The local newspaper “Diario de Mallorca” reported that, since mid -May, civil Guard boats have monitored at least 5 bodies coated. Police suggests that these bodies are belonging to migrants from North Africa, according to the newspaper “Mallorca Daily Polytene”.

In the details, the sea washed the bodies to the beach, but what raised doubts is that the victims were captive and feet, which prompted the police on suspicion of being killed in mysterious circumstances.

However, the course of the investigation faces great difficulties, as immigrants on these boats are often in illegal situations, and they avoid reporting the violations they are exposed to during their journey from the Algerian coast.

These bodies were found during the past month, but the authorities remained silent about the course of the investigation in order to preserve their confidentiality.

One of the bodies was found on May 18 around five o’clock in the evening, after a private ship was launched that raised the Belgian flag that was sailing off the coast of Formentera, a state of alert after it monitored a floating body in the sea.

Immediately, the Civil Guard patrol boat, Rio Sejora, moved to the specified site, despite its usual concentration in the Canary Islands, where he was carrying out temporary patrols in the Balearic Islands.

The “Rio Sejora” crew went to the coordinates that the Belgian ship provided them, and after about two hours of research, they found the body floating in the water without mobility.

Upon recovery, it was found that the victim was handcuffed and feet, wearing an orange Najat jacket, and the Civil Guard patrol boat transported the corpse to the Cap de Barbia area, south of Forminterira.

It was also found at least 5 floating bodies restricted hands and feet in separate areas of the Balearic Islands. It is assumed that all of them belong to immigrants who were traveling on a boat.

In all cases, the procedures followed in deaths resulting from violence were activated, where the civil guards and legal doctors carefully examine the bodies, and the fingerprints were taken if possible, or samples of DNA to determine identity.

Civil Guard investigators suspect that immigrants, who were found with hands and legs, may have been involved in a fight or a confrontation during the transit trip, after which they will be bound intentionally and threw at sea, in a clear indication of their death.

A Civil Guard spokeswoman told “AFP” that the investigations into these suspected crimes are focused on revealing the identity of the victims and knowing the circumstances of their death.

For her part, the head of the Balearic Islands Government, Marga Bohruns, told local media that these incidents embody the “most severe side” of the irregular migration path.

Although most of the migrants arrive in Spain are heading across the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean, hundreds of them are trying to take the shortest road across the Mediterranean from North Africa towards the Balearic Archipelago.

The Mallorca Daily Politin reported earlier this month that the authorities found 31 bodies in the waters and beaches of the archipelago between January and June of this year.
