The violent confrontations that erupted in the American city of Los Angeles enjoyed a widespread interaction by Arab singers, especially after President Donald Trump’s decision to send the National Guard to suppress the protests and use a strict tone against immigrants.
The city of “angels”, which is known as the “capital of immigrants” and the safe haven of the Antinians, who constitute more than 80% of its population, turned into a war field after sudden raids carried out by the American immigration authorities.
The events started last Friday when the immigration authorities carried out a campaign of raids in some areas and arrested more than 100 people, including 44 irregular immigrants, which raised protests that quickly turned into violent riots.
The streets witnessed the crowd of thousands of immigrants who cut off the roads and burned cars, while the police responded by throwing gas and rubber bullets, in scenes that the city had not known before in dealing with the immigrants.
President Trump issued an order to send two thousand soldiers from the National Guard to suppress the protests without returning to the governor of California, describing the demonstrators as “violent gangs that must be expelled.”
Trump said in statements to him: “We will free Los Angeles from the invasion of immigrants, and we will arrest the convincing people, and we will not allow chaos to spread. This is a rebellion that hinders the enforcement of the immigration law.”
And the program (6/26/2025) monitored an aspect of the Arab tweeters’ comments on the events, as Ahmed Al -Kathiri called “the authorities in the United States of America to the need for restraint and dealing with humanity towards the demonstrators, as well as note the right of freedom of expression and peaceful demonstration of the demonstrators.”
Khaled Mahmoud commented, “Los Angeles, the American city of angels, as its name means, faces a security dilemma in dealing with the protesters against the deportation and removal of illegal immigrants.”
Chaos
While Suhair criticized the decision to publish the National Guard, saying that “the deployment of the National Guard is a dangerous escalation aimed at provoking chaos. The raids of the American Immigration Department in California are part of the Trump administration’s harsh and studied agenda to spread panic and division.”
Suhail Al -Daraj asked about the possibility of the spread of these scenes, saying: “The question is, can these scenes move to other major American cities? !! This is the important question? !!”.
On the other hand, Ahmed Hassan supported the position of the American administration, saying: “It will not happen … the United States is the first symbol of freedom in the world … Trump is true … Anyone who violates American law must be punished.”
The outcome of riots and violence was heavy, as dozens of demonstrators and police officers were injured, and more than 174 irregular immigrants were arrested, while the situation is still rising.
Trump threatened to send the Marines to the province if the events worsened, and the rebellion law that allows him to deploy the army to curb the turmoil may be used, in a move that reflects the seriousness of the security escalation.
Trump’s transgression of California, Democratic Governor Gavin Newsum, sparked the latter’s discontent, who condemned what he described as “unjustified federal attack”, and considered the decision “an unconstitutional action and a violation of the sovereignty of the state.”
Newsum announced his intention to file a lawsuit against the Trump administration, in a development that reflects the increasing tension between the federal government and the governments of democratic states on the file of immigration and the related security policies.
