More congratulations
Political analyst Mohamed bin Kharouf asserts to Al -Jazeera Net that the message of the American President goes beyond the mere congratulations, and includes the call to deepen the partnership and push the capabilities of its investment for a strong partnership, while emphasizing the importance of joint cooperation more, by virtue of what is imposed by the current stage that witnesses global political and strategic transformations according to common interests.
Although transactions between the two countries have been based on the aspects of security and traditional energy since independence, the message- according to what the political analyst- confirms that the American president is looking to expand relations and direct them towards establishing sustainable cooperation between the two countries.
He considered that Trump’s reference to joint achievements in favor of regional stability, efforts in the field of combating terrorism, and another in order to secure the borders “are considered a reminder of Algeria’s position on the African regional, Maghreb and even international levels.”
On the other hand, he pointed out that “the historical stations that bring together the two countries, through which Algeria imposed a diplomatic respect, derived from the principles of the dew and respect for the sovereignty of states and international laws,” noting that the reader is that “the United States sends its desire to be a partner like the rest of the partners, such as China, Italy and others,” he said.
He added that “its call to expand cooperation did not come from nothing, besides Algeria’s possession of enormous economic and metal capabilities entering into the new technological industries that the world is searching for, the regional political transformations and Africa liberate from the previous colonial influence, especially in the Sahel region, and compensating it with other powers such as China and Russia; they are all things that make Washington want to return to the continent without entering into conflict with the rest of the countries.”

Economic dimensions
Economist Ahmed Al -Haidousi says that the two messages carry symbolic symbols, indications and deep economic dimensions, as it is an invitation to emphasize the importance of exploring commercial and investment opportunities between the two countries, considering that the entry of the two companies “Exxon Mobil” and “Chevron” comes in this path.
In his interview with Al -Jazeera Net, Al -Haidousi indicated that the United States of America is not new to Algeria, “with evidence that the first economic partners of Algeria in the energy field since independence were Washington.”
He considered that the United States of America was not absent from North Africa, and did not retract the presence in it, “but the nature of the economic model prevailing in the seventies and eighties of the last century prevented its entry into force, unlike the current economic openness in Algeria, which is linked with its urgent desire to diversify the partners east and west,” noting that the new investment law in Algeria that encourages to attract these investments.
As for the energy field, he sees that there is a tendency to cooperate, especially with the desire of many companies to enter the Algerian market, specifically in the shale gas sector, as Algeria has huge potential.
Thanks to the exact and developed technology owned by the two companies, Algeria hopes for an effective partnership with the United States, and the expert stressed that expanding cooperation with America does not prevent Algeria from cooperating with other partners as well, “it goes according to the principle of openness and balance in its international partnerships.”
Bet and confidence
Abdel Latif Bourobi believes that the American approach to Algeria is closely related to its geographical location, “which gives it increasing importance in Washington’s foreign policy, and makes it a regional actor that cannot be ignored in strategic accounts, especially with a direction US Towards rearranging its priorities in the spheres of influence. “
Bourobi assures Al Jazeera Net that Algeria “is taken into account as a strategic partner, based on its geographical weight and its perceptions of the concept of energy,” noting that stability and political system in the country gives extreme importance in the American view of evaluating its partners, especially in light of international transformations, as the United States still maintains the position of the Great World Power.
Regarding international competition in Africa, Borubi highlights that Washington sees a promising market and a space rich in human and natural resources.
He also believes that Washington is currently considering Algeria as a permanent strategic partner, “which is indicated by the presence of major American companies in Algeria, as it is not usually invested in areas suffering from security risks, which reflects the amount of confidence in its stability.”
The researcher considered that this matter is realized by Algeria, as it provides the appropriate climate for these investments, without the need for military bases or a direct American military presence.
Stressing that Algeria will not abandon its neutrality in its relations with states, “but the concept of a traditional neutrality policy related to not engaging in partnership with a country at the expense of another has changed and has become from history, since interests have become a priority, and all these forces are looking for their interests without giving up and contradicting the principles,” he said.
