The seventh floor fire is still in a building Central Ramses Average Egyptian Telecommunications Company Cairo Who moved to the entire building of social media platforms, especially after the statements of government officials that sparked widespread controversy.
The Egyptian Minister of Communications, Amr Talaat, sparked a wave of ridicule and criticism after he stated that “the efficiency of the Internet increased after Ramses’s fire with evidence of discussions taking place on the Internet, because the Internet was working.”
This statement prompted some of the pioneers of the communication sites to comment, mocking that if the minister’s talk is correct, then the best solution to improve the Internet in Egypt is to “set fire to all centrals.”
For his part, the Egyptian Prime Minister, Mustafa Madbouly, came out with another statement in which he denied the existence of the government to sell the Central Ramses building, saying: “If I would sell it, why?” This has increased the debate about the future of the building.

Variety in interactions and legal dimensions
Some of the tweeters commented that the Prime Minister’s statement raises questions about the legal status of the building, especially since it is about to complete 100 years, which will restrict the disposal of it legally for its entry into the antiquities, while the current building case after the fire is granted greater flexibility to dispose of it, whether by modification or sale.
On the other hand, others considered that the question was to the Prime Minister about the burning of the building for the purpose of selling it “illogical.”
While others saw it as a legitimate question in light of the high cost of rehabilitation of the building, especially with the possibility of distributing the services that the building was providing to other centers, which makes it an exhibition for sale in its distinguished location.
Some commentators praised the “intelligence” of the Prime Minister in converting the answer into an implicit denial of the intention that some believe, without direct answer to the doubts raised.
Calls to stop rumors and correct the context of statements
On the other hand, a number of tweeters called for not spreading rumors that cause loss of confidence between the government and citizens.
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology also issued a statement confirming that the statements of Minister Amr Talaat about increasing the efficiency of the Internet may have been “shared from its context and changed its meaning”, and that the minister was indicating the continued efficiency of the Internet after the fire despite increasing the unusual loads and densities on the network.
The fire resulted in the death of 4 employees and the injury of 22 others (most of them suffocated), and also caused severe damage to the equipment and communications rooms inside the building. This led to a severe interruption or slowdown in Internet and landless services in Cairo and several governorates, in addition to the disruption of electronic banks and ATMs, as the national communication level decreased to about 62% of the normal rate.
Initial investigations attributed the cause of the fire to a short circuit in the telecommunications equipment room, at a time when the accident launched a broader discussion on the centralization of communications infrastructure in Egypt, and calls for distribution of data centers and services geographically and technology to reduce the repetition of such crises in the future emerged.
Very logical words, but it is the citizen, I want to work in that he answered her, and she is a bird and the government’s scratching, and she is working as well !!
