For the first time in 5 years, the families whose members are distributed over the boundaries between Ethiopia and Eritrea meet.

The opening of the boundaries has revived the trade exchange, as people use both the Ethiopian righteous and Eritrean righteousness in the local markets.
However, Zlambica’s infrastructure, including communications and banking services systems, is still severely affected, and needs great financing to rehabilitate them.
Restore services
Gradually, some vital services, such as water supply, health care and education, are restored through joint efforts of the local population and external donors.
The residents chanted, “Enough of the past, let’s sit at the peace table and build a better future.”
It is noteworthy that the relationships between Ethiopia Eritrea has always been tension, since Eritrea’s independence more than 30 years ago.
