Telegraph: Switzerland has warned against Iranian spy on its diplomats in Tehran news

The Telegraph newspaper reported that the Swiss intelligence has warned of an increasing threat to Iranian spy on Swiss diplomats in Tehran.

According to the British newspaper, the warning came after recently vague deaths of people linked to the Swiss embassy in Iran.

The Swiss intelligence service included Iran along with Russia China And North Korea As countries, their intelligence activities against Switzerland have intensified, noting that Switzerland’s representation of American interests in Tehran makes its diplomats more vulnerable to intelligence targeting.

The Telegraph newspaper said that the Swiss intelligence warned that the escalation of regional conflicts increased the risk of Swiss diplomats to “direct pressure” while performing their duties abroad.

The Swiss Foreign Ministry seeks to complete the information, with the aim of clarifying the facts, but it lacks the powers of the investigation within Iran.

Since 1980, Switzerland has represented American interests in Iran, including consular affairs and exchange of messages between Washington Tehran, which makes Swiss diplomats a major monitoring target, according to the newspaper quoted former intelligence officials.
