The discovery of a “dead” galaxy after the Big Bang 700 million years sciences

Using the James Web Space Observatory, astronomers discovered a huge galaxy that stopped forming stars before the universe was only 700 million years old.

According to the studyThe scientists published in the journal The Strofizal Journal, the team reached these results by studying the infrared galaxy spectrum, and they found the effect of only old (red and cold) stars, while there were no hot blue stars.

Dead galaxies

In the beginnings of the universe, galaxies grew by dragging gas from the middle between the surrounding galaxies, and turning it into new stars, which are usually blue and hot, but this growth does not continue forever, in the end, galaxies are subject to a process called “extinguish Galaxies are “dead” with astronomical physics standards.

Astrologists believe today that about half of the galaxies in the near universe (surrounding our gun) no longer form new stars, and therefore they appear red due to the exile of the hot and blue young stars, leaving behind larger, cooler and more red stars.

This new galaxy, which was named “Rubies-YouS-Kyo G-Z-Z-7, was characterized by its small size, and its diameter is only about 650 light years, compared to local galaxies such as the Milky Way, which has a diameter of tens of thousands of light years.

Despite its small size, the researchers found that this galaxy contains a huge amount of mass, estimated at more than 10 billion solar masses.

The problem of cosmology

The problem currently faced by scientists is that all models constitute galaxies, which are built by scientists based on available physics, I expected that galaxies in that era were very active in producing stars, but this galaxy stopped suddenly.

Scientists have expected that the stopping of the stellar formation occurred only about 10-20 million years ago from the time we see this galaxy.

So far there is no clear explanation, but there are several hypotheses, including the activity of the central black hole, where the researchers assume that the energy emitted from it has paid or heated the gas that was supposed to be consumed in the formation of new stars.

On the other hand, a team of researchers assumes that the gas consumption quickly was one of the reasons, as this gas is used to build the new stars for a large time, but the gas may be consumed very quickly in a short period, or perhaps it was not consumed but pushed out of the galaxy due to huge intense staging explosions that occurred in that galaxy.
