Ahmed Mohamed Yassin, a former carpenter and father of two children, stands unable to hunger his family, after basic commodities have become far -fetched, and flour has not been available for weeks. He says that many have become unable to secure their needs and their day.

As for Maher Jamal Al -Dhaza, who is unemployed, he says that “whoever buys from the market at these prices must be a thief,” referring to unprecedented high prices, as the price of some basic materials exceeded the daily population’s ability to spend.

In the Shujaiya neighborhood, Muhammad Ashour has been displaced for months, after he lost his home during the war. He tries to secure the minimum food for his family, and says that flour alone has become a goal that requires going out more than once and facing the danger every time.

During the three attempts to obtain a flour bag from an American food aid truck, which arrived in a Gaza neighborhood, the Israeli occupation forces opened fire towards gathering civilians, which led to all of them.

Maher Al -Dhaza lost his eye as a result of the injury, and he was bleeding for hours before the paramedics could reach him. Mohamed Ashour was shot in his neck, while he was trying to take shelter from shooting.

Ahmed Mohamed Yassin was also injured while trying to pull the flour bag from the back of the truck, before being forced to flee and leave the aid behind him.

They said that they had seen injured, martyrs and body parts scattered at the place, while they were fleeing towards the sea to escape the fire.

They were unable to get flour at that time, but they returned again after time in subsequent attempts, despite the risks, to secure the hunger of their children.

In Gaza, it is not only suffering in the lack of flour, but also in the human cost that is pushed to try to obtain it.
