The Carier Clinic of Dentistry in the German city of Cologne said that the cyst that appears in the gums or the jaw bone causes severe pain and requires its treatment immediately.
The clinic explained that the cause of the appearance of the cyst in the gums or the jaw bone is often due to the presence of inflammation in the jaw area, noting that the gum bag is often noticed only when it grows and presses the nerve, which causes severe pain.
Make the teeth and deformation of the jaw
The dentist should be visited as quickly as possible, given that in the advanced stages the cyst may lead to the dislocation of the teeth and deform the jaw bone, and that the fractures of the jaw bone cannot be excluded if the size of the bag increases excessively.
If the X -ray confirms the diagnosis, the dentist will remove the bag under local anesthesia, and in some cases large bags may require later stuffing with alternative bone materials.
It usually takes the regeneration of the jaw bone completely for several years, and even if the patient does not appear on any symptoms during this period, it is recommended to conduct periodic checks, as the appearance of cysts may be repeated.
