The investigation committee in the fate of the sons of the Syrians detained in the prisons of the previous regime began its work, after it revealed the mechanism and future plans for research, investigation and information verification, to ensure the rights of these children who are forcibly absent.
The committee confirmed in a press conference that it had developed plans to find out the number of children who were transferred to sponsorship, in addition to revealing the fate of these children, according to the official Syrian news agency “SANA”.
She stressed that her goal is to “search, count and reveal the fate of children who were absent in the prisons of the ousted defunct system.”
The committee chaired the advisor of the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Raghda Zidan, and included in its membership representatives of the ministries of the Interior, Endowments and Justice, and the civil society organizations and the families of the missing persons, and a number of specialists Human rights And the subjects of forcibly disappeared.
Zaidan stressed during the press conference the need to integrate efforts between all concerned authorities and ministries according to a professional work, to reach the real results and reveal the fate of every missing child.
In the context, the Syrian Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor reported that it has made field visits to the role of care to see the documents, and to verify the information available to them.
In turn, the representative of the Ministry of Justice in the committee, Judge Hossam Khattab, pointed out that all the measures taken by the committee “are carried out according to legal principles, and within the highest standards of justice.”
He talked about the committee’s follow -up to illegal travel cases, informal care houses, and cases of attachment to change children’s ratios. He pointed out that all the perpetrators will be held accountable for their involvement in hiding children.
The ongoing investigations aim to track the fate of hundreds of children who were lost during the detention of their parents and mothers in the prisons of the previous regime, or during their stay in governmental care homes.
Last week, internal security arrested the two former ministers for social affairs and work Rima Al -Qadri and Kinda Al -Shammat, against the background of the file of “children of detainees”, in the context of the government’s efforts to reveal the fate of children who disappeared while they were in the role of care under the supervision of the previous regime.
The arrest, which included other personalities, came after the formation of an investigation committee under a ministerial decision, authorizing the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor to follow up the file of the missing children, in coordination with the Ministry of Interior.
