Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, Chairman of the Qatar Olympic Committee, Chairman of the candidacy file committee, stressed, “We believe in the strength of sports and their impact on bringing people and cultures, and enabling their members, and launching their human capabilities, especially young people, and our participation in the ongoing discussions reflects the hosting of the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2036 national vision that sees in sport a driver for development and a platform to enhance understanding and peace between peoples.”
