A spokesman for the civil protection in Tunisia, Moez Taraea, confirmed that the search for the child Maryam was carried out in full coordination with units of the National Army and the Maritime Guard.
Taraeh said, in a statement to “Mosaique” radio, that the operation relied on advanced equipment, including a rescue boat, a diving team, and a drone (Dron), in addition to the tactical support division of the competent civil protection unit.
For his part, the conclusion of Nasser, a member of the national diving team, considered that the beach in which the incident occurred is one of the dangerous areas due to the presence of strong air currents, noting that it does not usually witness a great demand from vacationers, and at the same time, at the same time, stressing the absence of swimmers from the site at the time of the accident.
Osama, the child’s uncle, denied the “Mosaique” radio, the fallacies that are being circulated on social media about the incident, accusations of her mother of negligence, and the incident.
@mosaiquefm “In moments, we lost Maryam ‘… a moving testimony for the uncle of the missing girl in Qalibia beach #mosaiquefm🎙🔝🇹🇳
“I was present at the time of the accident, we were swimming close to the beach, and we took all the precautions from the beginning. Mary’s mother placed her inside a rubber buoy and tied her with a thread to her clothes in order to ensure her safety.”
It is noteworthy that the girl had headed, last Saturday, with her family, to the Beach of Qalebiya, where she was swimming over a rubber buoy next to her mother. However, strong winds suddenly blew, and during a moment of negligence, the buoy gradually moved away from the beach. Despite her attempts to save her, Maryam disappeared from view, so that her fate remains unknown until the moment her body was found later at sea.
