The 13th Israeli channel said that the Spanish coach Pep Guardiola, Manchester City coach, in which he criticized the silence towards what is happening in Gaza, sparked outrage in Israel.
“Guardiola, during his honorary doctorate from Manchester University, delivered a letter without anyone asking him, in which he spoke about the children of Gaza,” the correspondent of the channel, Yossif Yisrael said.
He added, “It is not the first time that Israel criticizes, and sympathizes with the Palestinians.”
He added that Guardiola is from the Spanish region of Catalonia, from which he was criticized by Israel, and he chose this platform (his honorary doctorate receiving from Manchester University) to attack Israel. “
The Spanish coach said, “We are in complete silence in front of the scenes of the violence that we see, and I feel deeply saddened by the fall of innocent people in Ukraine, Sudan and Gaza,” the Spanish coach said.
He continued, “What we are seeing in Gaza is very painful, this hurts my body … We see the death of thousands of innocent and children and the suffering of thousands of families due to violence.”
“Some people may think that we do not see the killing of children of 4 or 5 years old because of a bomb while there is no hospital in the first place to treat the injured … I say to these people think as you want, but you are the next .. your child will be the next victim.”
“I see my children in front of my eyes since the beginning of the nightmare of Gaza’s children, and I am afraid. In a world that sometimes tells us that we are very young to make a difference, it is a matter of choice, choosing to demonstrate and reject silence when necessary.”
